An active lifestyle can protect you against health problems such as breast and bowel cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke, but just how much physical activity is needed to avoid these illnesses? According to a study, published in The BMJ, we need to move a lot more than what experts currently recommend. In these cases, physical activity can take the form of gardening and doing housework, exercise and active transportation like walking and cycling. Just how much we need is still not yet answered and is still being debated.
